Small French Cheese Reblochon
This iconic cream cheese from the Alps is made on an area that covers much of Haute-Savoie and the Val d'Arly in Savoie. It is made exclusively from raw milk and whole of local cows by farmers and cheese producers. The history of Reblochon begins more than five centuries ago. Farmers in the Aravis chain then owed a milk royalty to local lords. Waiting for the controllers to leave, they would then do a second milking, richer in cream. Thus was born the rich and unctuous "reblochon", a term inspired by the Savoyard dialect, "rebloom", which means to milk again.
